Mobile privacy policy
Speech & Debate Timer · Updated October 12, 2026
Timers work without an account. This policy describes the mobile app, not the separate website’s advertising or payment services.
What stays on your device
Timer settings and your flashing-light warning choice are saved on your device. Timers run locally and can be used offline. The app does not record speeches, collect speech text, or upload your countdown history. It does not request access to your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, or location.
Optional account information
You can create an optional account to save and load settings across devices. The website and mobile app use the same account. Our authentication provider, Clerk, processes your email address, credentials, account identifier, sign-in sessions, and profile information supplied by a sign-in provider if you use one. Native sessions use platform-secure storage.
Authentication and hosting providers may process technical information such as IP address, device or client identifiers, and device/browser details to deliver and secure the service. If you choose “Save settings” in Account, our server stores your account identifier and timer preferences. We use this information for account access, settings synchronization, service operation, and security—not mobile advertising.
Service providers and security
Clerk provides account authentication, and Replit hosts our API and account-linked settings. These providers process information needed to deliver and secure the service. Account requests use HTTPS encryption in transit. We do not sell your mobile account information or use it for targeted advertising.
Retention and deletion
Local settings remain until you clear the app’s data or remove the app, subject to your device’s backup settings. Account-linked preferences remain until you replace them or delete the account. Deleting the app alone does not delete an online account.
In the app, open Account, sign in, choose “Delete account,” and complete the confirmation. This deletes your shared website/mobile account through Clerk, saved account preferences, and any website ad-removal entitlement associated with that account. Local device settings are separate; clear app data if you also want to remove them.
You can request the same deletion without installing or signing in to the app:
Records that providers must retain for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or security may be retained for those purposes. Any payment records from separate website purchases may remain with payment providers as legally required; the mobile app itself does not collect payments. If a deletion request requires a retention exception, ask support for the specific reason and applicable period.
Young users
Accounts are intended for users age 13 or older. If you believe someone under 13 has provided account information, contact support to request its removal. A basic timer does not require account registration.
